"CJ's Barrel" is named after CJ Kingston, our family patriarch and pioneer who came to Casablanca in the early 1900s looking for gold. An extremely limited special bottling, it is allocated exclusively to Old Corral club members.
Quite the opposite of 2017 (one of the warmest years in the Casablanca Valley), 2018 was very cold and we harvested late.
As you may know, our vineyards are located in the westernmost part of the Casablanca Valley, which makes it the coldest place in the valley. As a result, the Sauvignon Blanc often benefits from warmer years. In these years the expression is more tropical and floral, in the mouth there is more body than in colder years.
