We ferment our Sabino Chardonnay in a mixture of French oak and an egg-shaped concrete tank. Because we let it ferment naturally, it takes a long time to finish fermentation. We also bottle it later than most Chilean Chardonnay producers. By waiting, we let the vineyard, soil, and grape speak more clearly.

2016 was a good white wine vintage for Kingston. The 2016 Sabino has a lovely balance of citrusy notes, beeswax and toastiness. Fresh and energetic on the palate, medium weight. Bracing acidity. I like the way the wine sits on the tongue—round but not heavy. Classy, you might even say. Read more in Byron's tasting notes ››

**(95 points)** Named Best of Chardonnay and Best of Casablanca Valley. -*Descorchados* **(93 points)** Light golden yellow color in the glass. comforting aromas of lemon oil, apple and lees. Round and composed on the palate with flavors of lemon, grapefruit, pear and apple that persist through the finish that offers an energetic grip of acidity. No oak in sight, just terrific purity of fruit. Tasted twice with same result. -*PinotFile* **(91 points)** The Kingston family’s ranch is in Las Dichas, in southwestern Casablanca, close to the Pacific. The cool site grew a chardonnay with mild notes of mint interspersed, within dense white-fruit flavors. The depth of flavor contrasts crunchy herbal freshness with notes of apricots and honey. Chill it for coconut shrimp. - *Wine & Spirits* **(9 points)** Pale gold in color, this wine smells of golden apples and melted butter. In the mouth, lemon curd and pink grapefruit pith mix with a nice salty aftertaste and a hint of butter. Bright and juicy, with lots of verve thanks to excellent acidity. -*Vinography*
