2016 CJ's Barrel Sauvignon Blanc
"CJ's Barrel" is named after CJ Kingston, our family patriarch and pioneer who came to Casablanca in the early 1900s looking for gold. An extremely limited special bottling, it is allocated exclusively to Old Corral club members.
The CJ's Sauvignon Blanc is aromatically reserved but with great purity of flavor. It has a stoniness that makes it seem more serious than Cariblanco. Tasting the two side by side, the CJ's is less forward, less fruity, more mineral and precise. We haven’t had a Sauvignon Blanc like this before, and it feels like a quantum leap forward in our winemaking efforts. Time will tell if that proves to be true. Read more in Byron's tasting notes ››
