Alazan is our top Pinot Noir and a sommelier favorite for its sophistication and depth. Named after Peter Kingston’s burgundy-colored horse in the 1950’s, Alazan is a limited, reserve bottling made from a few special cuarteles in the Kingston vineyard.

An expressive wine, with bright, pure red fruits, rose petal high notes, and a powerful and mouthfilling texture. We think it’s ready to enjoy now upon first release, but given how nicely it’s already evolved in bottle, we believe that with time we’ll be even more surprised by what it has to offer.  Read more in Amael's tasting notes ››

**(95 points)** A pure and fruit-forward pinot that shows balance and finesse with a fine and almost oily texture. Medium to full body, fine-grained and ripe tannin mouthfeel. Persistent finish. -*James Suckling* **(92 points)** Bright ruby-red. A suave, highly perfumed bouquet evokes fresh red berries, incense, cola and tea rose, and hints of smoky minerals and allspice emerge as the wine opens up. Stains the palate with sappy raspberry, floral pastille and spicecake flavors that deepen steadily on the back half. Juicy and vibrant in style, showing excellent finishing clarity, impressive length and lingering mineral and floral notes. -*Vinous* **(91 points)** Offers a caressing mouthfeel, with rich, mineral-infused flavors of cherry, plum, currant and raspberry that are woven together by medium-grained tannins. Features a silky texture on the spicy finish. -*Wine Spectator*
