2012 Lucero Syrah
Lucero is named for a star-like marking on a horse's forehead, and inspired by the stars still glistening in the early morning sky when we pick syrah at Kingston. Our Lucero Syrah is less intense than its big brother Bayo Oscuro, and is a blend of different parcels within the greater Kingston vineyard.
The 2012, like the 2011, is a bit more subtle and approachable than earlier vintages, fresh and lively, and most importantly, drinkable. While it gets better with air, it doesn’t demand decanting. As always, it works beautifully at table, paired with hearty unpretentious fare. Read more in Byron's tasting notes ››
