Our Bayo Oscuro is Kingston Family’s best Syrah.  Inspired by a black stallion, Bayo’s dark, powerful nature is true to its name. We typically make less than 200 cases, and do not bottle it every year.  Bayo Oscuro is worth the wait.

The 2014 Bayo is a notch riper in character than the Lucero or the CJs, for that matter. Less brooding. It’s almost plush on the palate, with notes of dark chocolate, roasted meat, dark berries. There’s a warmth to the wine, something generous about it. Read more in Byron's tasting notes ››

**(94 points)** A wine with density and reserved character. Full to medium body, fine tannins and a silky finish. Shows stone and berry flavors yet has hazelnut and light cedar undertones. Drink now. -*James Suckling* **(93 points)** One of the stars of their small portfolio is this syrah, a red with a lovely acidity and intriguing notes of raw meat and fresh red fruits. This is a classic cool-climate syrah from the central coast in Chile. Luminous and crunchy, it will spice up shepherd’s pie. -*Wine & Spirits* **(93 points)** Bright violet. An exotically perfumed bouquet evokes ripe red and blue fruits, incense and Asian spices, and suave floral and smoky mineral flourishes emerge slowly. Sweet, seamless in texture and concentrated, displaying surprising vivacity to the intense black raspberry, boysenberry and candied violet flavors. Shows notes of spicecake and licorice on the youthfully tannic, penetrating finish, which hangs on with outstanding tenacity. -*Vinous*
