Below are a few of the faces and personalities behind Kingston Family Vineyards.
Byron Kosuge
Byron, our consulting winemaker and partner, has specialized in California Pinot Noir since 1987. He spent 14 years at Saintsbury in Carneros before venturing out on his own in 2001. He now consults to several wineries and makes wine for a handful of small brands, including his own brand, B Kosuge Wines, Miura Vineyards, McIntyre Vineyards and Kingston Family. Byron was trained both as a winemaker and a literary scholar, and laments that he does not have much time to read books these days. He lives in Napa with his wife Mary and daughter Audrey.

Evelyn Vidal
Evelyn, our winemaker, joined our team in 2005 to manage our winery in Casablanca and grew into the role of winemaker in 2008. Before joining us, Evelyn worked three harvests in Napa and Sonoma Valleys in California and studied at Universidad de Chile. Evelyn met Byron in 2003 when she was working for a season at MacRostie in Sonoma. Evelyn is a rising star among Chilean winemakers and has been featured in several articles on the emergence of women winemakers in Chile. She lives with her husband Cristiàn in Santiago.

Courtney Kingston
Courtney manages the importing, sales, and marketing for our small wine business. In 1994,
Courtney and her brother Tim came up with the far-fetched idea to plant a vineyard on the
family's farm in Casablanca, Chile. Courtney graduated from Princeton University and wrote
the business plan for the Kingston vineyard while at Stanford Business School. Courtney lives in Northern California with her husband Andy Pflaum and daughters Annie, Louisa and Caroline.

Enrique Alliende
Enrique leads the Chilean contingent of the extended Kingston family. He is our "gerente
general" in Chile, and brings 30+ years experience in Chilean agriculture to our small team.
Enrique and his wife, Sally Kingston, met at a Chilean rodeo in the 1970's. Enrique, Sally,
and their five daughters share their time between their home in Santiago and the Farm in
Casablanca.

Michael Kingston
Michael was born and raised on the Farm in Casablanca during the 1940's and 50's, along with
his four brothers and sisters. His grandfather was the gold miner and original founder of
the Farm. Michael went to Princeton University where he met his wife Louise. After retiring
from a 38+ year international career at Citibank, Michael lives in New Jersey and travels to
Chile about five times a year.
